STEVE PAPPAS RAISES MORE THAN $165,000 IN CAMPAIGN FOR THIRD DISTRICT SUPERVISORPappas Sees Dramatic Increase in Donations District-wide In Wake of New Advertising Campaign
SANTA YNEZ, Calif., May 14, 2008 - Steven Pappas announced today that he has taken in over $165,000 to fund his campaign for Third District Supervisor and that donations continue to grow on a daily basis. Pappas, who has been raising funds since last December, has seen a dramatic increase in funding since elements of his television, radio and print campaign stepped into high gear last week.
“We are seeing donations come in from every corner of the Third District and from every walk of life,” said Pappas. “It’s coming from those people who work and live here and have been fighting hard to be heard by their government officials. These citizens want to protect what is dear to them and the rise in donations is a clear indication that voters want a change and that our message is spreading rapidly”
Pappas, a registered non-partisan, has a platform focused on providing an open, honest and unbiased approach to government. Pappas also feels strongly that each community in the district must have a plan for sensible growth and leverage the community plan process to do so. Pappas is also against further expansion of the gambling business in the district and he plans to continue his environmental work in preserving the Gaviota Coast.
Steven Pappas, 47, is a long-time resident and businessman in the Santa Ynez Valley. He continues to be an active member in the community with a passion to be personally involved in the widespread issues that impact the 3rd District. He was elected to the Los Olivos School District Board of Trustees in 2004 and was named President in 2007. He continues his work as a concerned citizen via public meetings with various County agencies such as the Planning Commission, Planning Department, Public Works, Health and Safety and the Board of Supervisors. |
